Backstage
A personal photographic project looking at performers backstage, capturing the moments just before and after performances. Being a fly on the wall to pre show rituals and routines showing the people we see on stage in the off moments that are rarely seen.
The project so far has involved the oldest show in London’s West End – The Mousetrap, Stomp and contemporary circus company No Fit State and will continue with shows of different disciplines. My personal work usually uses strong colours to help create an identity but for this series I wanted everything in black and white so the main focus is on the emotion of those involved.
